Laser pointer was recalled on 10 July 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0895/09. Damage to sight risk reported by Greece. These products pose a risk of damage to sight because they incorporate a class 3A laser which is dangerous if a direct beam, or even a beam reflected off a reflective surface, strikes the unprotected eye.

Risk Description
These products pose a risk of damage to sight because they incorporate a class 3A laser which is dangerous if a direct beam, or even a beam reflected off a reflective surface, strikes the unprotected eye. The pointers bear the indication “Class IIIA Laser Product”. Class 3 laser pointers should not be placed on the market for use by consumers.These products do not comply with the relevant European standard EN 60825.
