Risk Description
The earrings contain excessive amounts of cadmium and lead (measured values: 0,023 % by weight and 10,7 % by weight, respectively) and release an excessive amount of nickel (measured value: 0,28 μg/cm²/week). Cadmium is harmful to human health, because it accumulates in the body and can damage organs and it may cause cancer. Lead is harmful to human health, accumulates in the body, can cause developmental neurotoxicity and may also affect breast-fed or unborn children. Nickel is a strong sensitizer and can cause various allergic reactions if it occurs in objects that come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
