Insects was recalled on 18 November 2016 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/1481/16. Choking risk reported by Spain. The wheels on the butterfly and ladybird easily detach, generating small parts which a small child may put in the mouth, causing choking.

Risk Description

The wheels on the butterfly and ladybird easily detach, generating small parts which a small child may put in the mouth, causing choking.The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.

Product Description

Plastic toys in the shape of a red and black butterfly and a blue ladybird. The product is packaged in a sealed cardboard blister pack, with the cardboard bearing various images.

This product contains small parts that can detach and pose a choking hazard, or its size and shape make it dangerous for young children if swallowed or placed in the mouth.

Recommended action

Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.

Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well.
