Imitation confectionery was recalled on 4 November 2011 under EU Safety Gate alert 1211/11. Choking risk reported by Italy. The products pose a risk of choking because their form, appearance and colour are such that it is likely that children will confuse them with a foodstuff and consequently ingest them.

Risk Description
The products pose a risk of choking because their form, appearance and colour are such that it is likely that children will confuse them with a foodstuff and consequently ingest them. During normal handling, the "sweets", particularly the heart-shaped sweet, can break producing parts small enough to be swallowed (1.2 x 2.7 cm 1.9 x 3.2 cm).The product does not comply the Directive 87/357/EEC concerning products which, appearing to be other than they are, endanger the health or safety of consumers.
