Hair straightener was recalled on 25 April 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 0474/08. Electric shock risk reported by Bulgaria. The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- the supply cord length is longer than the maximum permissible length of 2m;- the appliance does not carry a symbol or warning prohibiting use near water.

Risk Description

The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- the supply cord length is longer than the maximum permissible length of 2m;- the appliance does not carry a symbol or warning prohibiting use near water. The appliance is not marked with the symbol of construction class ІІ;- the instructions for use do not contain the following advice: "The supply cord of this appliance should not be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be discarded”.The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60335.
