Hair dryer was recalled on 8 December 2006 under EU Safety Gate alert 0805/06. Electric shock, Fire risk reported by Czechia. This product poses a serious risk of electric shock and fire because:- the dimensions of the plug are insufficient; - the cross sectional area of the conductors are insufficient;- the cord anchorage is inadequate; - during the abnormal operational test both flames and poisonous/ignitable gas were emitted and the temperature rise of the floor of the test corner exceeded the required value.

Risk Description
This product poses a serious risk of electric shock and fire because:- the dimensions of the plug are insufficient; - the cross sectional area of the conductors are insufficient;- the cord anchorage is inadequate; - during the abnormal operational test both flames and poisonous/ignitable gas were emitted and the temperature rise of the floor of the test corner exceeded the required value. As a result the product failed to meet the electric strength test;- the product is not marked with the necessary warnings.The products do not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60335.
