Growing pet (egg and dinosaur) was recalled on 25 July 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 0787/08. Choking risk reported by Cyprus. The product poses a risk of choking because it grows more than 50% in any dimension and if a child swallows this toy or part of it, contact with saliva or gastric juices will cause the toy to grow in size, which may cause asphyxia or gastrointestinal injuries.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of choking because it grows more than 50% in any dimension and if a child swallows this toy or part of it, contact with saliva or gastric juices will cause the toy to grow in size, which may cause asphyxia or gastrointestinal injuries.The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71.

Product Description
1. Effigy of an egg made of transparent hard plastic which has another egg in it made of a material like gypsum. The second egg has in it a figure in the form of a dinosaur. The egg bears a label which has the following signs on it: ‘Expand Double Size Do Not Swallow’, ‘Warning Chocking Hazard-Small parts, Not for children under 3 years old’, Instructions how to use it, ‘CE’, age restriction and ‘Made in China’. 2. Effigy of an egg which has in it an expandable toy in the form of a dinosaur. The egg is made of transparent hard plastic. The egg bears a label which has the following signs on it: ‘Expand Double Size Do Not Swallow’, ‘Magic’,’ Funny’, ’Novel’, ‘Warning Chocking Hazard-Small parts, Not for children under 3 years old’, Instructions how to use it, ‘CE’, age restriction and ‘Made in China’.
