Risk Description
Risk of scalding from boiling water. Over a period of time, the handle of the kettle may become detached from the main body of the kettle, creating a possible scalding hazard if the kettle is in use. The handle is plastic and it is the plastic housing within the handle that failed.There were nine complaints from customers reported, of which two complaints mention scalding injuries to three individuals. Hospital treatment was not required in respect of these injuries.
