Risk Description
The plastic cable housing contains short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 5,12% by weight). The solder also contains lead and cadmium (measured values up to 68 % and 0.44 % by weight respectively). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Lead and cadmium are toxic for the environment. The product does not comply with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation) and with the requirements of the Commission Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS 2 Directive).
