Risk Description
The container does not have a secure closure system which allows a child to easily open it and access the talc powder. Talc can enter a baby's lungs per inhalation, leading to respiratory impairment or severe lung damage. Additionally, the product has an excessive concentration of arsenic, cadmium and contains lead (measured values: 4.50 mg/kg, 0.66 mg/kg and 29.5 mg/kg, respectively). Arsenic may cause cancer, may damage fertility or the unborn child, causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage the kidneys and bones and it may cause cancer. Lead is harmful to human health, accumulates in the body, can cause developmental neurotoxicity and may affect breast-fed or unborn children. The product also lacks warnings in German language. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
