Risk Description
The product poses a chemical risk because it contains benzene. The felt component in the black pen was found to contain 29.8 mg benzene/kg and the yellow pen 13.7 mg benzene/kg (limit value: 5 mg/kg of the weight of a toy). According to Directive 67/548/EEC, benzene is a Category 1 (R 45) carcinogen, a Category 2 (R 46) mutagen and poisonous (R 48/23/24/25).
