Extension lead was recalled on 8 October 2010 under EU Safety Gate alert 1495/10. Electric shock risk reported by Germany. The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- the cross-sectional area of the conductors in the cable is not sufficient;- the earth lead has no metal conductor; - live leads are soldered onto contact surfaces; - the cord anchorage is inadequate.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- the cross-sectional area of the conductors in the cable is not sufficient;- the earth lead has no metal conductor; - live leads are soldered onto contact surfaces; - the cord anchorage is inadequate. Cord extension set: white multiple socket outlets with switch, with four, five and six sockets; packaged in a plastic bag stapled to a cardboard label; the upper and lower parts are joined by cross-headed screws. 3.10 m connecting cable with moulded, grounded plug; inscription: "m MAKEL", CE mark and GS mark on the cardboard label.
