Expanding toys - Grow toys was recalled on 5 June 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0729/09. Choking, Injuries risk reported by Lithuania. The products pose a risk of choking and injuries because parts of the toy, which fit entirely into the small parts cylinder, can grow in size by more than 50% after being placed in water.

Risk Description
The products pose a risk of choking and injuries because parts of the toy, which fit entirely into the small parts cylinder, can grow in size by more than 50% after being placed in water. If a child swallows parts of this toy, contact with the saliva or gastric juices will cause the toy to grow in size, which may cause asphyxia or gastrointestinal injuries.

Product Description
Expanding toys in the form of: 1. Black whale, weight: 8.8 g, dimensions approx: 49 x 26 x 17 mm, 2. Lilac shark, weight: 9.7 g, dimensions approx: 53 x 26 x 15 mm, 3) Dark green dolphin, weight: 6.2 g, dimensions approx: 58 x 27 x 14 mm. The toys are made from hard spongy and expanding polymeric material. They include a label with inscriptions: “GROWING“ TOYS FRUIT & VEGETABLE“, Do not swallow, EXPAND TO OVER 600 % OF ORIGINAL SIZE, on other side of label is lettering: “Create your world”, non-toxic, not recommended for children under 3 years old. WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD- Small parts. Not for children under 3 Years. Made in China
