Expanding toys - Grow toys was recalled on 5 June 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0724/09. Choking risk reported by Lithuania. The product poses a risk of choking because parts of the toy, which fits entirely into the small parts cylinder, can grow in size by more than 50% after being placed in water.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of choking because parts of the toy, which fits entirely into the small parts cylinder, can grow in size by more than 50% after being placed in water. The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and with the relevant European standard EN 71.

Expanding toys made from hard, spongy and expanding polymeric material in various forms: 1. Red flat fish, weight: 7.5 g; dimensions of toy approximately: 53 x 21 x 10 mm,2. Yellow flat fish, weight: 7.0 g; dimensions of toy approximately: 21 x 11 x 3 mm,3. Yellow and green flat fish weight: 8.5 g; dimensions of toy approximately: 50 x 26 x 22 mm.A label is marked on one side with the inscriptions: "GROW TOYS", "Do not swallow", "EXPANDS TO OVER 600 % OF ORIGINAL SIZE" and on the other side: "non toxic", "Not recommended for children under 3 years old". "WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 Years", "Made in China".
