Expanding toys - "Colored Growing' was recalled on 18 April 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 0438/08. Choking risk reported by Lithuania. The product poses a risk of choking because the figure and the parts of the expanding figure grow in size by more than 50% when submerged in water.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of choking because the figure and the parts of the expanding figure grow in size by more than 50% when submerged in water. If a child swallows parts of this toy, contact with the saliva or gastric juices will cause the toy to grow in size, which may cause asphyxia or gastrointestinal injuries. The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and with the relevant European standard EN 71.

Product Description
Expanding toy sea-shell made from hard spongy and expanding polymeric, in multicoloured material. The toy contains the following markings: “COLORED GROWING“, „It grows in water!”, “Caution: Do not swallow”, “WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD- Small parts. Not for children under 3 Years”, “EXPAND 600 % OF SIZE” and trademark with lettering: “HingFat TOYS MANUFACTURER®, art. No.533". It also carries a CE mark, a pictogram concerning age 0-3 restriction and an adhesive tag with an inscription in Lithuanian. Size of toy – (65 x 60 x 35 mm), mass – 22.5 gr.
