Risk Description
The product poses a risk for the environment because the handles contain up to 9 % short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. The placing on the market and use of articles containing SCCPs is banned. The product does not comply with the Commission Regulation 850/2004 on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation).
