Electric touch lamp was recalled on 3 January 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0891/06. Electric shock, Injuries risk reported by Hungary. The product poses a serious risk of electric shock because: - sharp edges protrude into the wireways;- the basic insulated wires get into contact with accessible metal parts;- there is no cord anchorage preventing wires from pulling and twisting;- the protecting tubes are unfixed;- the insulation between the live and accessible parts is not appropriate since flashover occurred.

Risk Description
The product poses a serious risk of electric shock because: - sharp edges protrude into the wireways;- the basic insulated wires get into contact with accessible metal parts;- there is no cord anchorage preventing wires from pulling and twisting;- the protecting tubes are unfixed;- the insulation between the live and accessible parts is not appropriate since flashover occurred.This lamp also poses a serious risk of injuries because sharp external metal edges of the luminaire may cause injury. This product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
