Electric soldering iron was recalled on 18 July 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 0765/08. Electric shock risk reported by Spain. The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- the internal conductors do not have the required insulation,- the cable does not have the cross-section area required by the standard,- the appliance does not have a cable gland or a form of cable support,- the appliance is not protected against excessive flexing at the entry point (supply cable),- the appliance does not have an anchoring device for type Y fixing,- the number of mica layers (solid insulation) does not comply with the requirements of the standard, In addition, portable appliances to be used on tables or similar surfaces must include a holder or have a separate form of support, which this electric soldering iron does not have.
