The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- after the thermal test, the electric strength of the insulation decreases;- the majority of the information related to electric safety is missing from the instructions for use,and of injuries because :- the product is not provided with any device protecting against the contact with the rotating part and protection against accidental operation;- the switch can be locked when the machine is operating;- the data plates with the essential information can be removed easily;- the instructions for use do not include the majority of the general instructions related with the safe use,and of fire because during the thermal test, the planer caught fire.

Risk Description

The product poses a risk of electric shock because:- after the thermal test, the electric strength of the insulation decreases;- the majority of the information related to electric safety is missing from the instructions for use,and of injuries because :- the product is not provided with any device protecting against the contact with the rotating part and protection against accidental operation;- the switch can be locked when the machine is operating;- the data plates with the essential information can be removed easily;- the instructions for use do not include the majority of the general instructions related with the safe use,and of fire because during the thermal test, the planer caught fire. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60745.

Product Description

The product has a plastic cover and the surface contacting the material to be treated is made of aluminium. The button setting the depth of planing also serves as a grip. The appliance neither has an automatically closing protecting shield nor a lowering device. The machine can be operated by pressing a button, where it can be locked with a black plastic insert on it. By pressing the button again the lock is released, and the planer will switch off if the button is released. Main parts of the device: mains plug with inscription "10/16A 250V FY-206" + marks of manufacturer + VDE; mains cable with inscription "TRIACE H05VV-F 0,75mm2 X2C" + VDE + KEMA-KEUR "; one-circuit switch with inscription "RJCEA FA2-6/1B 6(6)/250V~ 12(12)/125V~ 5E4" + CQC. Technical specification: 230V~50Hz; 710W; 16000 r/min; width and depth of cutting: 82x2mm.
