Risk Description
A low quality cog (not hardened) has been installed in the chain drive. Under stress, it can break, hence the chain drive may no longer be able hold the smoke/heat extraction valve/window, and in the absence of other safety mechanisms installed, the valve/window can fall onto bystanders and injure them. The product does not comply with the Construction Products Regulation nor with the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 12101-2.

Chain drive for opening and closing windows in the façade and roof. The product has a plate indicating its production date as year (Y) month (M) day (D): "xx.xxx.xx / xxxxxxx / YYYYMMDD / xxxxxxxx". All chain drives of types identified above and produced from 01.05.2022 to 30.11.2022 are concerned.
