Desk lamp with dimmer and clip (portable luminaire) was recalled on 12 January 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0015/07. Electric shock risk reported by Hungary. This product poses a serious risk of electric shock because:- sharp metal parts protrude into the wireway;- the basic insulated wires are in contact with accessible metal parts;- the cross-section area of the core is less than required (0,04 mm²);- there is no cord anchorage applied protecting wires against pulling and twisting;- the protecting tube covering the soldered connections can easily move.

Risk Description
This product poses a serious risk of electric shock because:- sharp metal parts protrude into the wireway;- the basic insulated wires are in contact with accessible metal parts;- the cross-section area of the core is less than required (0,04 mm²);- there is no cord anchorage applied protecting wires against pulling and twisting;- the protecting tube covering the soldered connections can easily move. This product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
