Risk Description
A small part (duck's bill) can easily detach from the toy. Small children may put it in their mouth and choke. Moreover, the migration of lead from the toy is too high (measured value up to 64 mg/kg). Lead is harmful to children as it can lead to developmental neurotoxicity. It accumulates in the body and may also affect their future progeny when breast-fed or unborn.In addition, the migration of N-nitrosatable substances from the toy is too high (measured value up to 2.8 mg/kg). Nitrosatable substances can be converted into nitrosamines, which may cause cancer through ingestion or dermal exposure. A child could be exposed to them when touching or putting the product in the mouth. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standards EN 71-1, EN 71-3 and EN 71-12.
