Risk Description
The costume is highly flammable and the flame propagation too high on the white textile of the dress. The costume may catch fire if worn close to an ignition source, resulting in burns. The migration of chromium VI from the toy's plastic eye is too high (measured value: 0.053 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising, can trigger allergic reactions and can cause cancer. Moreover, the migration of lead from the surface material is too high (measured value: 23 mg/kg). Lead is harmful to children as it can lead to developmental neurotoxicity. It accumulates in the body and may also affect their future progeny when breast-fed or unborn. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standards EN 71-2 and 71-3.
