Cord extension set - Four-socket power strip with TTL and extension cable was recalled on 12 June 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0761/09. Electric shock risk reported by Spain. The product poses a risk of electric shock because: - the side earthing contacts are not sufficiently elastic to ensure correct contact pressure with the side earthing contact of the plug; - the holes in the sockets of the power strip are not sufficiently elastic to ensure that the contact pressure with the pins of the plug is sufficient, - the product fails to resist temperatures of 100 degrees under test conditions.

Risk Description

Product Description
The product is a power strip made of white plastic with four sockets and a 1.5 m extension cable. It bears the following text: "Famatel” and “Max. 3000 W~250V". The product comes in blister packaging, with the following text printed on the cardboard: "Famatel, four sockets with TTL, 1.5 m extension cable, designed for wall-mounting, patented, new". On the reverse side, there are diagrams indicating how to mount the product on the wall and other suggested uses. The product also contains the CE mark and details of the party responsible for placing the product on the market.
