Risk Description
The product poses a risk of fire because in condenser driers there is always the possibility of large amounts of fluff accumulating and starting to smoulder. This is quite normal in a condenser drier. The problem in this case is a plastic grid not made of fire-resistant material which is fitted behind the condenser in the air current before the heater to prevent users from putting their hands in. It has been established that smouldering or burning fluff can cause this plastic grid to catch fire. The fire can subsequently spread to the drier and then even to the surrounding area.Four incidents have been reported. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive.
