Risk Description
When touched, the notified products release colorants in considerable quantities.The colorants found are:- BASIC BLUE 9 (methylene blue CAS 61-73-4), which in concentrated solutions can cause damage to the cornea and conjunctiva and which can be harmful if swallowed in large quantities;- BASIC Violet 14 (CAS 632-99-5) is also present, which has been assessed by the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) as a probably category 2B carcinogen.
