Risk Description

The product contains azo-dyes releasing the aromatic amines 3,3’-dimethoxybenzidine (measured concentration 224 mg/kg) and benzidine (measured concentration 140 mg/kg). When the product is in direct and prolonged contact with the skin, this aromatic amine may be absorbed by the skin. Aromatic amines can cause cancer, cell mutations and affect reproduction.Moreover, the drawstrings in the hood and in the waist area of the tracksuit may become trapped during various activities of the child, leading to strangulation or injuries.The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation and with the relevant European standard EN 14682.

Recommended action

Cut any cords or strings if they cannot be safely removed. Never leave children unsupervised with products that have loose cords.

Who is at risk?

Anyone who has used this product, especially children, pregnant women, and people with sensitive skin. All users, particularly children and elderly people who may be more vulnerable to injury. Infants and young children are at the highest risk of strangulation from cords, strings, and loops.
