Risk Description

The product poses a risk of strangulation due to the presence of functional free cords in the hood of the children’s coat. The product also poses a risk of choking for children due to the presence of the small toggles at the cord ends that can be easily detached and swallowed.The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14682.

Product Description

Children’s three piece jeans outfit (jacket, shirt and trousers) intended for children between 3-8 years. The jacket has a hood with functional cords made of cotton. The hood has a free cord made of cotton with plastic toggles which are easily removable.

Recommended action

Choking: Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer. Strangulation: Remove the product from the child's environment immediately. Cut any cords or strings if they cannot be safely removed. Never leave children unsupervised with products that have loose cords.

Who is at risk?

Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well. Infants and young children are at the highest risk of strangulation from cords, strings, and loops.
