Risk Description

This article poses a serious chemical risk because the white plastic foil contains 13.1% by weight of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and 14.2% by weight of di-isononyl phthalate (DINP). According to the Chemicals Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC, the allowed max. for phthalates in toys and childcare articles is 0,1%. The product may come into contact with a child’s lips and mouth and the restricted chemicals may get into saliva and can be swallowed. Phthalates may cause harm to an unborn child and possibly pose a risk of impaired fertility. Phthalates have a negative impact on the development of male/female reproductive organs.
