Risk Description
The products pose a chemical risk due to the presence of the aromatic amine 4-methyl-m-phenylendiamine at a level of 1 133 mg/kg. According to the Council of Europe Resolution ResAP (2008) on requirements and criteria for the safety of tattoos and permanent make-up, the level of the aromatic amines as 4-methyl-m-phenylendiamine with carcinogenic effects, should neither be present in tattoos and PMU products nor released from azo-colorants.
