Baby Toys was recalled on 9 October 2015 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/1226/15. Choking risk reported by Cyprus. The rattle in the shape of a crab can easily break and release small parts.

Risk Description

The rattle in the shape of a crab can easily break and release small parts. A small child may put these in the mouth and choke. Also, the butterfly and the guitar rattles are too long. A small child could put them in the mouth where they can get stuck and obstruct the airways. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European Standard EN 71-1.

This recall involves a choking hazard related to Baby Toys.

About this risk

This product contains small parts that can detach and pose a choking hazard, or its size and shape make it dangerous for young children if swallowed or placed in the mouth.

Recommended action

Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.

Who is at risk?

Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well.
