Angle grinder was recalled on 13 July 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0669/07. Electric shock, Injuries risk reported by Hungary. The product poses a serious risk of electric shock because:- live parts are accessible, - the ventilation holes got damaged during the required mechanical tests, therefore the live parts became accessible, - the internal wiring is not fixed therefore they can got damaged due to contacting moving parts,and of injuries since the majority of the safety instructions and general safety rules are missing from the instructions for use.

Risk Description
The product poses a serious risk of electric shock because:- live parts are accessible, - the ventilation holes got damaged during the required mechanical tests, therefore the live parts became accessible, - the internal wiring is not fixed therefore they can got damaged due to contacting moving parts,and of injuries since the majority of the safety instructions and general safety rules are missing from the instructions for use. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 50144.

Product Description
The samples are identical with each other considering their construction and the used parts, but the packaging is different. The housing of the grinder also serves as a grip. It is made of black plastic; there is an orange plastic insert on it. The second grip is also plastic and can be screwed into one of the holes on the sides of the metal crank house. The machine can be operated by pushing forward the switch button, where it is locked. The lock is released when pressing it from the side, and thus the button gets automatically into switch-off position. The protecting shield is made of iron plate and can be fixed onto the crank house with a screw. Main parts of the device: mains plug (16A/250V FV-007+mark of manufacturer+VDE); mains cable (H05VV-F; 2x0,75mm2 YONKANG ZHIYING CABLE AND WIRE FACTORY; VDE); bipolar switch (ZRHL DQ FD2-5/2F 125V~60Hz 250V~60Hz 16(16)a 5E4); attached cutting disc "MANS FRIEND max.80m/s 125X22,2mm Upm/rpm/tpm max. 12200” + mark of direction of rotation.
