Risk Description
The product poses a risk of allergy due to excessive nickel content in the buckle: 3.3 micrograms/cm2/week whereas the maximum release rate for nickel is set at 0.5 micrograms/cm2/week. The buckle is greatly in excess of this limit despite the labelling “nickel-free metal parts”. The presence of nickel in products which are in immediate and prolonged contact with skin can cause sensitization and allergic reactions.
