What Is Recall Europe?
Recall Europe is an independent product safety database that aggregates and organises recall data from the European Commission's Safety Gate (formerly known as RAPEX). We make it easy to search, browse, and stay informed about dangerous products recalled across Europe.
Data Source
All recall information originates from the European Commission's Safety Gate system, the official EU rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products. The data covers 31 EEA countries and is updated on a weekly basis to ensure you have access to the latest safety information.
Our Mission
The official Safety Gate portal is a single-page application that can be difficult to search and navigate. Our mission is to make product recall information truly accessible and searchable for consumers, researchers, journalists, and anyone concerned about product safety in Europe.
We believe that safety information should be easy to find, easy to read, and available in multiple languages.
How Data Is Processed
Our automated pipeline pulls recall data from official EU data sources, processes it, and publishes it here in a structured, searchable format. Each recall is categorised by product type, country, brand, and risk level.
Content is translated and available in 5 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.

Coverage
The database contains 45,000+ product recalls dating back to 2005, spanning over 30 product categories including toys, electronics, motor vehicles, clothing, cosmetics, and more.
