Risk Description
The two screws used to attach the side railings are 1.6 mm too short, which means that they cannot be fixed securely to the nuts. When the window-balcony is opened and closed, the screws, which are on each side of the upper part of the side railings, can become loose and detach, rendering one (or both) side railings unsafe. The barrier is therefore inadequate, with the consequent risk of injury. As long as the nut is fastened/fitted to the screw, the structure of the railing remains intact but becomes loose. Despite being unstable the strength of the railing is unchanged. If one of the screws and nuts became detached, the side railing would remain unattached to the lower element.
