Risk Description
This mini-motorbike poses a risk of injury because the drive chain and sprocket were unguarded and presented a trapping and contact hazard to the user and because of steering and braking deficiencies. A potential fire hazard exists due to inadequacies in the fuel system.The bike failed to comply with the Standard BS 7407 in a number of aspects:- The drive chain and sprocket were not guarded. - The braking system was insecurely attached, operated abnormally and was imbalanced and inefficient. - The machine did not have a suspension system, which in certain conditions would affect the handling characteristics.- The steering mechanism fouled on the fairing and did not have full freedom of movement. - There were sharp edges, trapping hazards and mis-alignment of the fairing.
