Risk Description
The plastic material with white squares of the product contains an excessive amount of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values up to 9.55%) and short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured values up to 1.96% by weight).Moreover, the area with see-through plastic of the product contains an excessive amount of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values up to 15.83 %) and cadmium (measured values up to 0.041%).Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage the kidneys and bones and it may cause cancer. DEHP may harm the health of children by causing possible damage to the reproductive system. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation nor with the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) Regulation.
