Risk Description
The software of the forward-collision mitigation (FCM) system of the engine control unit (ECU) may be faulty. As a consequence, the FCM-ECU software may activate the brake for longer than necessary and the driver may react by applying additional braking. The resulting rapid deceleration of the vehicle can increase the risk of rear-end collision.
