Risk Description
Lamps failed parts of the national standards concerning the wick, filler opening, leakage and appeal to children. As a result small children may gain access and ingest the lamp oils. Ingestion of small amounts of lamp oils with certain toxicity characteristics directly from the lamps or via the wick can lead to severe lung damage and even death of small children (ages 1 – 3 years).
